THE renaissance: Northern and Italian
Watch the video and answer the following questions :
-What enabled the Italian city-states to become the source of the Renaissance? Explain in detail. (1 paragraph)
-Is important for history to be based-off comprehensive narratives (eras categorized by broad ideas and movements--ex. The Renaissance, The Dark Ages, etc)? How might the classification of historical periods (periodization) effect our interpretations of the truth? Argue yes or no and support your claims with reasoning and evidence. (1-2 paragraphs).
-Was the Renaissance really a "thing" (do you agree or disagree with John Green)? Why or why not? Explain in detail. Is the common interpretation of the Renaissance accurate or does it need to be refined?

Follow the link HERE. Watch the video and make your ideal renaissance man based off the influential figures of the Renaissance: Petrarch, Da Vinci, Raphael, Medici, Michelangelo, Boccaccio and Machiavelli. You will need to do some research.
